Every published observation is one priced line off one document. These are the fields it carries; nothing here is derived, estimated or filled in.
| Line item | The description exactly as printed on the document, and the canonical item it was grouped into. |
| Unit price | The awarded unit price, as printed. |
| Quantity and unit | The quantity let and its unit of measure, folded to a single spelling per unit. |
| Extended amount | The document’s own line total, used to check the arithmetic before the row is published. |
| Agency and letting date | Who let the work and when it was let. |
| State and county | As printed on the document. Counties where the agency prints one; never inferred. |

How to get at it
Searching and reading the index is free. A free account opens the p25–p75 range, the full observation table and the source link on every row. Estimator adds the segment split, the per-agency comparison, the quarterly trend and CSV export of the observation table — the export carries the item, the price class, the sample it was built from and the date it was generated, so a number pasted into an estimate can still be traced back.
There is no public API and no bulk endpoint, and automated collection of the index is not permitted — see the acceptable use policy. If you need a feed or an extract rather than a lookup, tell us what you need.
