Four cookies, all first-party, all necessary. No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, and no consent banner to dismiss.
What Hubstake uses
Four cookies, all first-party, all necessary for the site to work. There are no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, no third-party analytics script, and nothing here is sold or shared.
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
hs_session | Keeps you signed in. HttpOnly, so page scripts cannot read it; it is what every gated response is actually checked against. | Until you sign out or it expires |
hs_who | Holds only the email address to show in the header. Every page is a cached static file, so without it the header could not settle to a signed-in state without a round trip. It grants no access of any kind. | Same as the session |
hs_v | Marks a browser that has not signed in, so anonymous rate limits apply per browser rather than per shared network address. | Session |
hs_ok | Records that a human-verification challenge has been passed, so you are not asked again on every page. | 24 hours |
Third parties
Cloudflare serves and protects this site, and its bot-protection challenge may set its own cookie when it runs. That challenge is a security measure, not analytics, and Cloudflare does not use it to build an advertising profile.
Fonts and stylesheets are served from this domain, not from a font host, so no third party learns which pages you read.
How we count traffic
We count page views without a cookie and without identifying anyone. For each request the site stores the path, the day, a coarse human-or-bot guess from the user agent, and the host of the referring site — never the full referring URL, which can carry someone else’s search terms.
Deliberately not stored: your IP address, your user agent string, your account or session, and any query string. Nothing in that record can follow one reader from one page to the next, which is the point of building it that way.
Your choices
Because none of the four cookies is used for advertising or tracking, there is no consent banner to click through. You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time; if you block them, search and the public pages still work, but you will not be able to stay signed in.
What we hold about an account, and how to have it deleted, is set out in the privacy policy.
